Operations Manager, Los Angeles Area – CA

The Operations Manager will be responsible for providing data solutions within Southern California. We are seeking a self-driven, career-motivated and passionate individual who can demonstrate proficiency as an Operations Manager. The successful candidate will have a high attention to quality, have an engineering mindset and be able to work effectively with clients and team members. This individual will primarily work in an office setting.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for data solution operations through an in-depth understanding of hardware and software solutions and coordination of project managers and field technicians. This role is accountable for staff performance in managing the workload and quality control of the projects. The role has contractual and technical responsibility for a project. The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining fiscal, schedule and technical control of the project and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and technicians throughout the project. This role is responsible for maintaining and continuing to develop their own client bases and bring in revenue for the company.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Understand IDAX data solution capabilities in order to solve data collection challenges and recommend best potential solutions for the client.
  • Ability to learn and understand new technologies and concepts to complete work and help develop new partnerships and offerings.
  • Maintain fiscal, schedule and technical control of a project through coordination with project managers and technicians.
  • Provide quality control over your own work and others.
  • Ability to determine project budget requirements in relation to personnel, materials and equipment necessary to complete or carry out work of a proposed project or program for large scale, highly complex projects.
  • Anticipate client needs, act with foresight when strategizing problem solving, fully collaborate to add value to the end result.
  • Takes ownership over projects and does what it takes to ensure quality delivery to client.
  • Invoice clients.
  • Identify and investigate new opportunities (clients, projects, data solutions) for IDAX to pursue.
  • Cultivate and sustain customer relationships (through accurate record of client interactions).
  • Maintain client base and secure new clients, via project leads and market intelligence, in order to expand business.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and demonstrate the IDAX corporate values in all interactions.
  • Mentor, train and motivate employees to develop their technical and professional skill set.
  • Take the lead in corporate or organizational strategic initiatives such as recruitment or business planning.
  • Lead others to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Required Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or transportation related field
  • 3+ years in transportation or Intelligent Transportation Systems
  • PE in California a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – comfortable leading conversations at all levels of an organization and communicating with clients

Field Supervisor & QC Specialist - Seattle area, WA

IDAX is a multimodal data collection company providing public agencies and private clients with accurate and meaningful data to serve any data-related needs that they may have.

IDAX is looking for a Field Supervisor/QC Specialist to assist with field collection in the Seattle area, as well as in other areas of data collection IDAX conducts. This position is a 3 month (40 hrs/week) contract with potential to be extended to a full time role.

Many of our field collection studies involve manual on-foot collection with teams as large as 20 people working on a specific project. Project types include asset, parking, transit, and general observations among others. IDAX utilizes an internal mobile GIS application for data collection where this role has potential to be involved in aspects of its continuing development through new feature testing and user experience feedback. Your time will be split between the field and office with approximately 40% in the field and 60% in the office.

Qualified candidates will:

  • Have astute attention to details and complete work without errors.
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable of Seattle parking signs.
  • Have experience in a supervisor role.
  • Be experienced and knowledgeable of Quality Control and techniques.
  • Have experience with mapping software.
  • Be experienced with spreadsheets and Excel.
  • Have desire and willingness to work outdoors, sometimes during inclement weather and at odd hours when needed.
  • WA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must pass background check and be able to qualify for clearance to gain access to secured client sites (no criminal history).

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience using data processing software such as Microsoft Excel
  • 2+ years in construction, engineering or technical industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – comfortable leading conversations at all levels of an organization and communicating with clients
  • GIS (Geographic Information Systems) skills, a plus.
